College furniture built to institutional demands
College furniture has a harder job than office furniture. It is used by a rotating population of students who did not buy it, do not own it, and will not be gentle with it. It has to survive that for years, in quantity, on an institutional budget — and be replaceable in matching batches when a wing expands. That combination is why campuses come to a direct manufacturer rather than a dealer.
As college furniture manufacturers in Bengaluru with our own Bommanahalli workshop, we cut out the reseller markup entirely. A department ordering four different items gets four items that look like they belong together, because they are all built in one place to one standard.
The full campus range
We manufacture classroom and lecture-hall seating, faculty and administrative workstations, boardroom and conference tables, computer lab tables, library furniture, cafeteria seating, and lockers and storage — end to end, in-house.
Lecture hall seating and classroom furniture
Desk-and-bench units and tiered lecture-hall seating, specified by row length and pitch — how much depth each row needs so students get in and out without the whole row standing. As lecture hall seating manufacturers we set that pitch against your exam layout, because aisle width is an invigilation requirement as much as a comfort one. Writing surfaces are laminate over a solid substrate on welded metal frames.
Faculty workstations for colleges
Staff rooms and HOD cabins need desks with real storage — drawer units for papers, a lockable pedestal, and cable management for a desktop machine. We build faculty workstations for colleges as modular runs so a shared staff room reads as one system rather than a dozen personal purchases.
Computer lab tables for colleges
The most demanding item on most campuses. CPU platforms, monitor clearance, keyboard height, and cable routing that keeps power and data off the floor. Rows can be built in straight banks or back-to-back islands depending on how invigilation works in that room.
College library furniture
Reading tables, individual carrels, stacks and issue counters. Carrels are worth considering where the college library furniture doubles as a study hall — they buy quiet without building walls. Boardroom and conference tables for senate and departmental rooms are built with cable and power cut-outs where AV is involved.
Cafeteria, lockers and storage
High-turnover cafeteria seating in wipe-clean surfaces — round tables seat more per square metre, rectangular tables queue better along a wall. Student lockers, departmental file storage and lab storage are specified by compartment count and locking type.
Specifying for a campus
- Count the room, not the order. Furniture that fits a plan on paper often does not fit the actual room once columns, doors and switchboards are accounted for. We measure on site before cutting.
- Plan for the next batch. Colleges expand in phases. Tell us a second phase is likely and we keep the specification on record so batch two matches batch one.
- Circulation and invigilation. Decide row pitch with your exam layout in hand.
- Edges and fixings. Anywhere students pass at speed, edges should be radiused and edge-banded; exposed fixings on student furniture become loose fixings.
Materials and finishes
Frames are fabricated in mild-steel section, welded and powder coated — the right call for institutional use because it takes knocks better than paint and matches to a departmental or campus colour. Work surfaces are laminate over an engineered-wood core, edge-banded on all exposed edges. Storage carcasses are metal or laminate to suit the room. For lab and technical rooms, tell us what will actually be done on the table and we specify the top accordingly rather than defaulting to a general-purpose surface.
Who we build for
Engineering and technical colleges, arts and science colleges, polytechnics, and research institutes fitting out new blocks or replacing worn batches. We have supplied workstations to IIIT College and laboratory tables to IIT, in both cases as repeat orders after an initial delivery. We build in our Bommanahalli workshop, serve campuses across Bengaluru from Electronic City to Whitefield, and deliver to colleges and institutions across India.
Sample-first customisation
Institutional orders are almost never standard. We build to the drawing rather than a catalogue and produce a sample unit for approval before any bulk run — worth doing on any order above a few dozen units, because it is far cheaper to change one desk than a hundred.
