Laboratory workstations built to your room drawing

A laboratory bench is a piece of equipment, not a table. It has to hold instruments steady, resist whatever gets spilled on it, carry services to where they are needed, and stay rigid for years while people lean on it. As laboratory workstation manufacturers in Bengaluru working from our own Bommanahalli workshop, we build to your room drawing — dimensions come from your space and your equipment, not from a catalogue page. That is the whole point of specifying a lab bench, and the reason to buy direct rather than through a reseller.

We manufacture science lab furniture for schools and colleges, research and testing benches, instrument tables, and modular clean-room furniture — all in-house, at manufacturer pricing.

Bench configurations

Island and wall lab benches

Island benches are free-standing and accessed from both sides — usually the centrepiece of a teaching or wet lab, with a service spine running down the centre. Wall benches are single-sided with services taken from behind: the most space-efficient layout for a narrow room and the simplest to service. Where a room is too narrow for a full island but one wall run is not enough, a peninsula bench (wall-attached at one end, open at the other) bridges the gap.

Instrument and balance tables

Heavier, more rigid tables for equipment that must sit still. Where vibration is a concern, the frame and top build differ substantially from a general bench — tell us what instrument is going on it and we build to suit.

Clean-room and under-bench storage

Modular clean-room units carry simplified profiles and reduced dust-trapping detail for controlled environments. Under-bench laboratory storage — fixed or mobile drawer and cupboard units, chemical storage and open shelving — is specified as part of the bench, not bolted on afterwards. Mobile units are worth specifying where a room’s function is likely to change.

Specifying chemical-resistant lab benches

The specification conversation should start with what happens on the surface. A physics teaching lab and a chemical testing lab need very different tops, and choosing between them without knowing the work is guesswork.

  • What will be spilled? Tell us the substances the surface will meet and we specify chemical-resistant lab benches suited to that exposure rather than applying one general-purpose worktop everywhere.
  • Wet or dry? Wet benches need sinks, drainage and a splashback. Retrofitting plumbing into a dry bench is expensive and rarely tidy.
  • Services. Power, data, gas and water are planned before manufacture. Fix the position and count of each outlet at drawing stage.
  • Working height. Standing and seated benches are different heights. If the room does both, specify per bay rather than compromising across the whole room.
  • Load. Heavy equipment needs a reinforced top and frame. Give us weights, not adjectives.
  • Circulation and safety. Agree aisle widths and clear routes to eyewash stations, showers and exits before the layout is fixed.

Materials and finishes

Frames are fabricated in mild-steel section, welded and powder coated — a finish that suits lab environments because it wipes down easily and can be touched up in place. Work surfaces are selected per application: we discuss the options against your actual process rather than defaulting to one top for the whole building. Under-bench storage is built in metal or laminate to suit what is stored, and sinks, splashbacks, service spines and reagent shelving are specified as part of the bench.

Who we build for

School and college science labs, engineering and technical institute labs, research facilities, and testing and quality-control labs in industry. We manufactured and delivered laboratory tables for IIT and workstations for IIIT College — the latter a repeat order following the initial lab table delivery. We fit out labs across Bengaluru, from Electronic City to Whitefield, and build for institutions across India.

Custom-built, every time

Every lab we build for is different, so effectively every order is custom. Bench lengths, service positions, storage mix, working heights and surface choice are all set per project. We work from your room drawing and measure on site where the drawing and the building have drifted apart — which, in older institutional buildings, they usually have. For phased fit-outs we keep the specification on record so a second lab built next year matches the first.

Discuss your lab

Send us the room drawing, the equipment list and a note on what the lab is actually used for. That is enough for us to come back with a layout and a quote.
